Absolute Gurkha is a registered Kathmandu based NGO, which provides assistance to the regions in Nepal worst hit by the two earthquakes of early 2015. Its mission is to raise funds enabling work to be done in a multitude of areas such as relief distribution, school rebuilding, volunteering programs etc. in order to help the beautiful country of Nepal back on its feet.

Absolute Gurkha offers affordable volunteer opportunities in Nepal for interested individuals, organizations & groups to make a significant contribution to Nepali communities, in the meantime, experiencing the rich culture, natural magnificence, and daily life of Nepali people. Nepal is one of the most beautiful countries in the world. The degree to which volunteers contribute to Nepali communities varies according to the motivation and their professional skills plus the duration; however, no experience is mandatory to join us. Absolute Gurkha strongly encourages all applicants. In fact, we only have few requirements for our volunteers like – a positive outlook, flexibility, strong desire to help impoverished communities in Nepal.
Our volunteer adventure program is a right choice to get involved for students or people in career break or on a short or long holidays which will give a complete package to learn Nepali culture, to be able to give back to the people in need and explore the beauty of Nepal and return home with everlasting memories.

The mission and objective of Absolute Gurkha volunteer overseas program is to encourage and invite local and international volunteers to contribute for the development of the poorest and conflict victim families and communities. In addition, we intend to enhance the feeling of volunteering, global brotherhood among Nepalese people. Our volunteer program promotes the voluntary opportunities for Nepali & international volunteers to build up a mutual friendship.
All programs offer home/ camp stay opportunity. This will allow you to learn Nepalese life style, language and culture. So while you are volunteering in Nepal, you will also gain lots of cultural exposure. It is our belief that through hard-work and positive thinking, we can all help to improve cultural / religious tolerance and encourage world peace. Volunteers will experience life in Nepal firsthand, working alongside with Nepali people to support communities in rural Nepal. Likewise, the volunteers will be making meaningful contributionsto impoverished communities, while participating in an exchange of ideas, cultural exchange and viewpoints with the local people who will ultimately be catalyst for sustainable development.

Program Fees
Absolute Gurkha is a not-for-profit; non-governmental, non-religious Nepal based organization (NGO). We are proud to offer all of the services at a very affordable price. Our program fees are two to three times less than other international volunteering organizations. However we do not compromise the quality of the projects. You and our working communities receive more for less. Our community services and services for our volunteers are provided from our local experienced full time staffs.
Our goal is to empower marginalized rural communities in Nepal. We have our sustainable long term holistic projects to achieve this goal. We place volunteers directly to these projects. We do not have to spend too much for the operation cost. We work very hard and smart to keep costs down especially for you, the volunteers, where it counts the most. This is the main reason our volunteer program fees are more affordable than any other volunteer abroad agencies.
Our program fees vary depending on the type of program. We calculate the cost according to your length of stay and the programs that you choose. Any inquiries can be sent to: info@absolutegurkha.org. All our program fees go directly to fund your stay, transportation, food & various community projects. We are working hard to ensure high level of project quality of the programs and the safety of all volunteers.

- Absolute Gurkha will review your application within 3 business days. If you are accepted into the program, you will receive an email notification.
- To confirm your reservation, you must send US $ 150 program booking fees to Absolute Gurkha.
- Absolute Gurkha will confirm payment and send pre-departure information to get you ready for the program;
- After we receive your fee, you should send us your flight details; our staff will be there to receive you from the airport. Absolute Gurkha staff will assist you from the time you arrive to the time you leave Nepal.
- If you are below 18 years old, you must obtain your parent’s consent letter independently.
Program Booking Fee: US $150 – is a non-refundable fee which covers processing your application and pre-departure support and is deductible from program fees.
Please Read The Following Information Carefully Before You Book Your Position:
- The program costs are reviewed regularly to adjust the inflation rates.
- To book a volunteer internship placement with us, you should pay a booking fee of US$ 150. This amount is for processing your application; pre departure support and ensures your arrival at Absolute Gurkha and is deductible from program fees. We only accept payment once you are accepted for the program.
- You may contact us for customized group Volunteering & program fee.
- You will receive a basic orientation before the placement and program induction.
The Program Fee includes:
- Airport pick up by Absolute Gurkha staff
- Hotel to project theoretical training site and back
- On site placement supervision
- From Kathmandu to on-the-ground training village and back along with your luggage
- From Kathmandu to project site and back
- A full day relief trip transportation in village andback
- All ground transportation for the charity tour & trek
- An experienced Guide – trained by Ministry of tourism, porters – generally 1 porter for 2 person, their food, accommodation, salary, insurance, for guide and porter. Bus transportation to and from trekking routes
- A full day sightseeing around Kathmandu valley
- Transfer from Kathmandu to airport for departure on the last day
- Accommodation at a budget hotel on a sharing basis while you will be in Kathmandu
- Welcome dinner on the arrival day.
- Food & accommodation during the volunteering program on a 3 meal basis.
- Breakfast & Lunch during our relief aid trip
- Food & accommodation for the charity tour or trek on a 3 meal plan
- Lunch during Kathmandu valley sightseeing
- Farewell dinner one day before the departure
- All required permits for the program will be covered
- National park permits & tickets for activities are included
- All the entry tickets for the heritage sites in Kathmandu valley are included
- All permits for the trekking and tour is included.

The remaining amount from the fees that you have paid will directly be used in the upcoming projects of Absolute Gurkha.
The Program Fee excludes:
- Airfare, Visa and Visa extension fee – (check with your embassy or Nepal Immigration for the latest fee structure)-
- Stationeries during volunteering period if you wish to use much;
- Meals other than that which is mentioned above.
- Laundry, drinks or other costs accrued during training and placement;
- Gifts to project staffs and host family, if you wish to buy any;
- Flights – International and domestic
- Visa renewal and obtaining
- Other expenses incidental cases
- Should you wish to spend more time in Kathmandu pre and post placement period, please remember to budget accordingly!
- Travel and medical insurances, immunization, health expenses;
- You will also need a weekly budget of up to US $40 to cater for all your other expenses like bottled water.
Note: Once you start your placement, if you wish to discontinue in any reason, the programs fee you pay are not refundable.
