About us

Absolute Gurkha, a non profit organisation, arose from the debris of the massive earthquake that devastated many parts of Nepal on 25th April 2015. Since the beginning of May, the group have been loading their bus and driving the dangerous routes, providing aid to heavily hit regions such as Dolakha, Sindhupalchowk, Langtang, Gorkha, risking their lives to get to places where many international organisations haven't covered.  They have also started performing community-healing programs in rural villages, orphanages and to homeless street kids, aimed at trying to help children through the trauma of the earthquakes, whilst at the same time educating them about how to protect themselves in the event of a third powerful strike.  

More recently, Absolute Gurkha have moved into the rebuilding of schools that has been damaged by the massive earthquake of 2015.  Allowing children to return to education is important not only for future development, but also in helping them overcome the trauma of the recent past.  

Some of our objectives include:

• Providing aid to rural regions most affected by the earthquakes.
• Undertaking Community Healing sessions to rural schools, orphanages and homeless street children.
• Rebuilding of schools, allowing children to continue with their education.
• Providing stationery to schools where the children are lacking in these basic educational items.
• Providing adequate sanitation to prevent the outbreak and spread of disease.
• Setting up adventure volunteer tourism to strengthen the overall economic development of Nepal.
